Partnering with notable film industry companies, film educators, directors, producers, and writers, the California Film Awards provides a forum for talented filmmakers to be recognized for their work, creativity, and achievements." Seeking—Films: features (50+ min.), shorts, documentary features, animation, students films, and films produced in or about California, in English or subtitled in English, completed no earlier than three years prior to submission date; Television Productions: in English or subtitled in English, completed no earlier than three years prior to submission date; Commercials: in English or subtitled in English, completed no earlier than three years prior to submission date; Screenplays. Note: Works-in-progress are accepted.

Entries must be DVD or VHS, labeled with film title, running time, and contact info. Do not send press kits or photos. Early deadline is April 25; entry fees are $35 (features) & $25 (shorts). Regular deadline is July 25; entry fees are $40 (features) & $30 (shorts). Late deadline is Oct. 25; entry fees are $45 (features) & $35 (shorts). Winners receive awards.
