CASTING: Fresh Faces, hosted by Back Stage, NYC

Back Stage is holding a "Fresh Faces" audition event to find the best actors, singers, and dancers of tomorrow. At the auditions, performers will have the opportunity to act, sing, or dance for a panel of prestigious industry experts, who will consider the performers for possible future projects and representation.

Expected panelists include:

  • Kim Williams (film and TV casting director whose credits include Tyler Perry's "Madea's Big Happy Family" and "Diary of a Mad Black Woman")
  • Charlie Walk (TV producer and president & CEO of CWE Media)
  • Doug Scott (executive director of Branded Content and Entertainment at Ogilvy & Mather)
  • Barry Habib (producer of "Rock of Ages" and multiple movies)
  • Tony-nominated actor-singer Constantine Maroulis

To add to the excitement, a major cable network will be present to capture some of the audition action. The "Fresh Faces" audition event is taking place on March 26 in NYC.

Seeking—Triple-Threat Performers, Actors, Singers, and Dancers: males & females, must appear to be at least 18, with outstanding performance skills.

Auditions will be held March 26 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Pearl Studios, 519 Eighth Ave. (btwn. 35th & 36th sts.), Studio D, NYC. To register for the auditions, visit www.backstageopencallnyc.eventbrite.com. The dancing auditions will take place from 6:30-7:30; acting auditions will take place from 7:30-8:30; and singing auditions will take place from 8:30-9:30. Bring headshots and resumes. Prepare a 1-minute monologue or 1-minute song; an optional 1-minute monologue and 1-minute song will also be provided at the audition. Choreography will be provided during the dance audition.

Note: Not everyone will have a chance to audition; actors, singers, and dancers will only be seen as time permits. However, a major cable network will be present and filming some of the auditions so there may be an opportunity for some national exposure. This event is free.
