The Simon Studio, now in its 34th year, is seeking new actors and directors for its professional Lab's Bard at the Bar, an annual Shakespearean collage performance of scenes, songs and dance. Roger Hendricks Simon, dir.; Mildred Purdy, Eddie Lew & Vincent Scott, assoc. dirs. The Lab combines actors, writers and directors for Shakespeare and film on-camera training and showcase/screenings for industry and public audiences. Those selected will work and perform in the Lab with Mr. Simon and studio members as well as associates and alums from the Broadway/London stage and film worlds. Mr. Simon has directed at the NY Shakespeare Festival, London's Royal Court Theatre, and Yale Rep; his actors have included James Earl Jones, John Lithgow, John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Tovah Feldshuh, and James Woods. The studio has won awards from the NEA, The Samuel French Short Play Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival and NPR. Performs May 31 at the Players Club and other future dates at other venues TBA.
