Thanks for posting one of Backstage’s castings on your site!
I found an opportunity to audition for my all time favorite musical, ANNIE!!!! I was so happy!!!! My mom and I finally arrived in Beacon, NY, and stayed at a hotel there. The hotel was awesome! We took the train down to Penn station and got in a taxi to drive to Chelsea studios for the audition! I wasn't nervous this time, because I have auditioned for Broadway before. They called all of the girls that were auditioning in to the room, split us up, and warmed up are voices by singing “Tomorrow”! Then, each group went into the room with the Casting Director Bob Kline, Director Martin Charmin, and Musical Director Charles Strouse. We each sang a section from “Tomorrow.”
After I finished singing, Martin had said that I was a very good singer and that I could go far in life! That was amazing to hear that from one of my favorite Broadway directors!!!! Then we went and did the dance audition! The dance that we learned was from the song "You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile!" I did really good! I didn't get a callback this time, but I was still really excited to have that opportunity of auditioning for my favorite musical! After the audition, my mom and I went shopping, boarded the train, got to the hotel, and slept over. We left for home the next morning! It was such a great experience. Also, I want to let ForTalent know that I am possibly going to a “Billy Elliot” audition on 9/18! Can't wait! And, wish me luck! :) (www.fortalent.com/blog/189320/)
